3D Laser Lipolysis

blog-01

3D Laser Lipolysis (Liposuction surgery) is the process of reducing subcutaneous adipose tissue locally through small holes (3-5mm) through thin pipes and with the help of some devices.

Apart from being an energy store, the fat cells in our body also take part in the production of hormones in the body. From adulthood, the number of fat cells does not increase. However, existing cells grow and shrink in cases of fattening and weakening. Therefore, growing fat cells due to poor diet and sedentary lifestyle cause obesity.

The way people get fat varies greatly (according to gender and race). Fat accumulation in women is mostly in the hips, around the waist, below and above the navel, legs and neck. In men, it occurs around the navel and waist, breasts, neck and around the internal organs in the abdomen. For a beautiful body appearance, it is absolutely necessary to eat healthy and do regular sports. However, the beautification process of the body can be performed locally by liposuction (liposuction) and by preparing the absorbed fat and injecting it into pre-planned areas.

Before the 3D Laser Lipolysis Surgery (Liposuction surgery), the planning is done by drawing the areas where the fat will be reduced. A small number of fine holes are made in these areas during the surgery. The thin tubes to be used in the process of reducing the adipose tissue are inserted through these holes and the adipose tissue is broken down by mechanical means, ultrasonic energy or laser energy. Then, the fragmented tissues are removed from the body by being pulled through the pipes by vacuum power, and the fat in this area is reduced and thinning is achieved. The aim of liposuction is not to weaken the patient, but to reduce the fat locally. Therefore, it is not realistic to apply liposuction for weight loss. Although the amount of fat to be taken is described in liters, the main purpose is to give shape and aesthetic body lines.

During the laser lipolysis operation, first of all, thin metal rods that emit heat with laser energy are moved around the planned areas for a specified period of time to melt and soften the fats. Then, fats are vacuumed from the same area with classical liposuction cannulas. In ultrasonic liposuction, on the other hand, the process of melting or damaging the fat tissue is carried out with ultrasound energy (sound waves), which is more selective towards the fat tissue and produces heat. Conventional cannulas can also be used to remove damaged fat.

After liposuction, it is possible to remove the contour deformities and even to add volume to certain areas (for example, the breasts) by injecting the extracted fat into other areas (fat grafting, lipofilling), and more than one session may be required for this procedure.

Liposuction is an operation with very low risks and very good results when performed appropriately for patients who need and have realistic expectations. As with any surgery, there are risks of bleeding and infection and liposuction. However, such complications are much rarer in liposuction.

Again, as in every surgical procedure, these risks increase if the patient has diabetes, any heart, lung or blood disease, or uses drugs such as blood thinners or birth control pills. Smoking significantly hinders the healing of wounds and adversely affects the outcome of any surgery. Smoking should be stopped 2-3 weeks before and 2-3 weeks after the liposuction operation.

In laser lipolysis, one of the complications that can be encountered from an aesthetic point of view is the asymmetric healing of the fat-absorbed area. This is due to the improper use of laser lipolysis or inadequate use of corsets or bandages, and may require a second revision session 4-6 months later.

Due to excessive fat intake, blood loss and disruption of body fluid-electrolyte balance may occur. For this reason, it is best to take oil within safe limits (3-5 liters).

One of the serious complications that can occur is vein thrombosis, which means clot formation in the leg veins, which is very rare. Although the risk of thromboembolism is quite dangerous, new liposuction methods, applying bandages to the patient's legs during the operation, and new drugs that have been used in recent years have greatly reduced these risks.

In the liposuction procedure, the duration of the operation can be quite variable depending on the area to be applied. While it may take 45 minutes for a single and small area, it may take 2-4 hours if it is to be applied widely on the whole body.

After the laser lipolysis surgery, there may be fluid leakage from the applied holes for 2-5 days, and edema occurs in the applied areas, that is, the application areas swell. In addition, increasing bruises occur in the first few days and these bruises disappear completely in the following days. Patients should wear corsets or bandages that will apply pressure to the treated areas for 3-4 weeks. It is possible for them to take a bath after 48-72 hours, and they should start light walks within 2-3 days for faster resolution of edema. However, they should not do heavy sports for 4 weeks.

After liposuction, patients should maintain their weight. Because even if the fat tissues are reduced, the remaining fat cells in their bodies will grow in case of fattening, and body contours may deteriorate. If patients maintain their weight, the results of fat absorption are permanent.

Laser lipolysis prices vary due to many variables (the technique and difficulty to be applied, the anesthesia to be used, the areas to be applied, the hospital where the surgery will be performed, etc.).
