Gluteoplasty – Hip Lifting

blog-01

Gluteoplasty is applied to patients who are not satisfied with the appearance of the butt, in order to enlarge and raise the buttocks. Ideally sized hips, thin waist, rounded and protruding butt have an important share in the attractiveness of the female body. According to the needs of the patients, hip aesthetics can also be performed with liposuction, fat removal and/or silicone prosthesis implantation on the hips, waist and buttocks in the hip region. Gluteoplasty methods can be applied separately or in combination.

-Liposuction and lipofilling: For the purpose of Gluteoplasty or Brazilian Gluteoplasty, fat is removed from the hips, waist, lower and outer sides of the buttocks with thin cannulas. The accumulated oil is simplified by precipitation or centrifugation processes. It is injected into the planned areas to raise and fill the buttocks and, if necessary, to widen the hips. The resulting dimpled and thinned waist region, narrowed or enlarged hips as needed, and a higher, rounder and larger hip can be achieved.

-Silicone hip prostheses: Silicon hip prostheses can be used in patients with flat hips and who do not have enough adipose tissue. Although breast prostheses have been used for this purpose in the past, products containing larger and denser gels specially designed for hips are now used. The most current approach is to place the prostheses between the hip muscle called the gluteal muscle. The scar of 5-6 cm incision made in the skin to place the prosthesis in the muscle remains between the hip rounds and can be hidden even with a thong.

-Butt lift and otogluteal (with the patient's own tissue) Gluteoplasty: In aged or overweight patients, the leg skin hangs down on the buttocks. In this operation, the outer skin on the upper part of the butt is peeled off. The prepared patient's own tissues are folded and moved under the skin to the upper part of the buttock, and the buttock skin is stretched to the upper wound and sutured. In this way, both the enlargement process and the lifting of the loose lower parts of the butt are provided. On the other hand, the emptied and loosened skin can be removed in the form of a belt by stretching and suturing together with abdominoplasty in the back and on the buttocks. This procedure is also called belt lipectomy. It tightens not only the abdomen but also the hips and leg skin. After the operation, there is a scar all around that remains in the laundry, but this scar may turn into skin color and become obscure after 1-1,5 years.

-Suture suspenders: In a small number of patients with weak, thin skin and small buttocks, small sagging can be reduced with suture hangers. However, the effect of suspension procedures is weak and short-lived and may often require more than one session.

-Synthetic Filling applications: Synthetic fillings can be made for patients who do not have enough oil for fat injection and do not want prostheses. These fillings are not permanent like the patient's own fat and the complication rates are higher.

After the surgery, patients can stay in the hospital for 1-2 days, depending on the procedure. You can see plastic medical materials called “drains” at the ends of the pipes coming out of the wounds after belt lipectomy and/or augmentation with their own butt tissue. These are placed in the surgical field to prevent the accumulation of blood and other fluids and are removed by your doctor 1-3 days after gluteoplasty. You don't need to be afraid, they don't hurt much when they are removed, and you can take a bath 1 day after they are removed.

If you have had gluteoplasty with a silicone prosthesis, a drain is often not placed and you can take a bath after 2 days.

Since all of the stitches are under the skin, there is no need for stitches to be removed. In the first 3 weeks, patients should use a corset. Patients should not sit on the buttocks for 1 week after hip prosthesis. At the end of the first week, they can return to work and do light exercises. Heavy exercises can be done after the sixth week.

No serious problems are expected after fat injections. Some (30-70%) of the given fat is lost and the hips shrink a little over time. Long scars on hip slings made by removing the skin in the form of a belt may disturb patients, but over time the scars will become indistinct. Although problems such as the appearance of the prosthesis from the outside and the formation of capsules were common after the buttock prostheses, placing the prostheses in the muscle greatly reduced these problems. The biggest problem of sutured hangers is that the effect is short-lived. The disadvantages of synthetic fillers are that the body can sometimes react and their effects are temporary.

On the other hand, it should not be forgotten that it is possible to enlarge your butt and thin your waist by doing exercises for the gluteal muscle and waist area along with a healthy diet.
