Scar Treatment

blog-01

Scar marks can create both aesthetic and psychological issues in human life. They often evoke unwanted memories of trauma and are also desired to be eliminated due to the aesthetic concerns they cause. Scars can result from accidents, burns, past surgical procedures, or self-inflicted injuries, and advancements in technology have increased our treatment options and success rates. The extent of scarring depends on factors such as the type of wound, the nature of the cutting instrument, accompanying traumas, subsequent infections in the area, initial intervention and effectiveness, the skill of the individual performing wound repair, and most importantly, the body's response to the injury. As Plastic Surgeons, our role is to minimize the visibility of an existing scar as much as possible. Our goal is to reduce scars to a minimum and ideally conceal them within the body's natural lines and contours. However, it's important to note that a scar will never completely heal without any trace. There will always be some degree of scarring at any incision site. Our duty is to ensure that the resulting scar is as minimal as possible.
